Lynx
Lynx
Lynx are native to the mountains of Colorado, but were trapped and hunted until they had disappeared from the state in the 1970s. They were reintroduced by Colorado Parks and Wildlife into the San Juan Mountains starting in the 1990s. There is now a small but stable population in this core habitat. Lynx are elusive and harder to spot than their more widespread relative, the bobcat.
Lynx is an original linocut on Rives BFK paper printed with black ink and painted with gouache in a small edition of 20 prints. It’s also beautiful as a black and white print without the added color, just let me know if you’d like it that way! The image is 18 x 24 inches and the paper is 22 x 30 inches.
