Gone to Seed
Gone to Seed was inspired by September walks through dried wildflowers on my favorite path. Even though the plants are past their prime, they hold the magic of seeds and dormant roots ready to start again in the spring.
This linocut was made with two carved blocks printed together with gradients of yellow, blue, and brown, onto Stonehenge Kraft printmaking paper. It is an edition of 20 prints. The image is 11 x 14 inches and the paper is 15 x 18 inches.
Time
Time flies around in circles,
clicking the seconds,
honoring the hours,
noting the changes:
new moon,
crescent moon,
waxing moon,
full moon.
Constellations circle the sky.
Flowers bloom then die.
Leaves fall,
snow falls,
eyelids fall over sleepy eyes.
The hours drip away into dreams,
and I wake,
right on time.
