The Bluebird of Happiness is a collagraph, different from my usual linocut technique. A collagraph plate is made by cutting shapes or using materials that can be glued onto a backing board. The raised surface is inked and printed just like any other relief print. For my plate I used mat board scraps and bubble wrap! I’ve printed bubble wrap before and it leave such cool little dots.

This small edition of 5 was a real joy to make. It is printed on Rives BFK paper with shades of ultramarine blue ink. The image is 13 x 13 inches, and the paper is 17 x 17 inches.
