Evergreen, 2008   edition of 5

11.75 x 7.25 x 4.25 inches


This book has samples, images, statistics, and a few lines of poetry for each of seven different Colorado evergreen trees. The prints are hand colored solarplate etchings framed with brass strips. The tree samples are covered with mylar and held in place with stained wood.  The pages are made of 5 stained pine boards sewn onto leather straps with linen thread.

Field Guide: Western Birds’ Eggs, 2007

This is a unique book of encaustic paintings with Xerox transfers of nest photos by Hal H. Harrison. The background painting of each page reflects the markings of a different western bird’s egg.  There is also a brief description of the egg with dimensions.


Encaustic is a wax based paint and an unusual medium for a book. The paintings were done on cotton rag matboard and bound with mylar barrier sheets.  The covers are original acrylic paste paintings. The book comes with a clamshell box.

Wild Flowers, 2008  edition of 5

7 x 7 x .5 inches


Wild Flowers is an accordion book of flowers that were photographed in Northwest Colorado. I cut the flowers out from their backgrounds and drew around the edges. These images were then turned into solarplate etchings and colored with watercolor.


The covers are made from original paste paintings with an inset on the front cover. The accordion paper is also paste painted. The prints, done on Rives BFK, are tipped on top. The book comes with a clamshell box.

Plaid, 2007  edition of 15

8.75 x 5.75 x .5 inches


Each plaid was drawn in Adobe illustrator and printed as an archival digital print. The pages are hand bound into a green cloth hard cover book. There is a piece of plaid cloth added to the cover and the title is spelled in painted wooden letters.


Putting Words in My Mouth: A Selection of American Idioms, 2005  edition of 15

6.25 x 5.25 x 1 inches


These common phrases using body parts were drawn in Adobe Illustrator and printed digitally on matte paper. Each drawing is attached to a single sheet of colored Canson Mi-Teintes and  sewn onto paper straps. The book is bound in black bookcloth with an illustrated inset.

The Girl with the Pretty Red Hair, 2003 edition of 50

8 x 5.75 x 1 inches


The 24 original prints in this edition are all hand colored linocuts. Each print is set onto red Fabriano Tiziano paper and bound onto paper straps. The boards are covered with black Fabriano Tiziano and have a title print inset on the front cover.
